As we start the graphic novel, Monster on the Hill by Rob Harrell, we
meet a family who has apparently gone away to a new town for a day. Suddenly
there is a noise. There is a monster in this town! The family runs and an old
man lets them in his shelter cellar. A few minutes later, the family walks out
and we are to find that, the people love their town’s monster!
After that, we meet two of our
three main characters. Dr. Wilkie and orphan Timothy. They’re town’s monster is
monstorly…. boring. So Dr. Wilkie goes to make Rayburn, our third main character,
more monster like. Little does the Dr. know that he has a stowaway.
I won’t
tell you the ending except that I recommend this book for 9 to 11 year olds. It’s
a good book if you’re looking for a bit of suspense and a good 180+ page
graphic novel.
